Ghana Market Burns

Smoke billowing from the Mallam market in the early hours of Monday, October 15, 2012.
These scenes were captured around 7am as I drove to the Efua Sutherland Children's Park for the commemoration of Global Handwashing  Day 2012.

The Mallam Market, one of the very patronised markets in Accra, has for years been noted for moderately priced food items and indeed served residents in Accra who live both in close proximity and those from afar.

The Peacock is an intriguing bird with the male rather being the more decorated and attractive.

The Dodi Princess before it got burnt

BY EDMUND STH-ASANTE
The only tour boat on Ghana's Volta Lake - the Dodi Princess which is run by the Volta River Authority and berths at its Akosombo port, was on Friday, May 4, 2012, gutted by fire. The cause of the fire aboard the cruise boat which also serves as a restaurant for tourists when it is stationary, is still under investigation. Below are some pictures of the boat before it got burnt.
