Services Primary 1978 ...Classmates meet after 43 years

It was all fun and nostalgia when the 1978 year group of the Services Primary School in Takoradi got to meet again after 43 years and recounted some past encounters.

Although not all members of the class of '78 were able to make it to the Afrikiko rendezvous in Accra, the desire to come together finally materialised after several botched attempts.

From the tiny school pupils of yesteryears everyone had become an adult and a parent or guardian occupying very responsible positions in society.

A minute's silence was observed for colleagues who had passed on and thanksgiving offered to God for keeping members alive and enabling the group meet after four decades.

There was also plenty to eat and drink ... and there was some dancing and singing too. Cheers to long life and many more meetups. #Edmages #cannshots #servicesprimary78

Centenarian Yartey Yartey goes home

When one lives up to 100 years and kicks a bucket, it does not call for mourning. It rather engenders a period of thanksgiving and rejoicing because such person is deemed to have so pleased the Lord that he or she has been given 30 more years grace period on planet earth.

Such was the case of old soldier (joined the army in 1945) Seth Nii Yartey Yartey a.k.a Uncle Seth, father of the Deputy Editor of the Daily Graphic, Mr Theophilus Yartey, after he was gathered to his ancestors on Thursday, November 4, 2021.

He was seen off on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Fritz Ramseyer Congregation, Bubuashie in Accra, after which the final funeral rites were held at the Accra Academy Senior High School compound.

The lenses of #Edmages captured some of the moments during the funeral. #canonshots

Experiencing Dar es Salaam's White Sands ...Karibu

Pictures by Edmund Smith-Asante. All Rights Reserved ©

Work can take one to all sorts of places. Well way back in 2016 work took me to the Tanzanian capital, Dar es Salaam. Although my stay was short the experience was unforgettable.

Staying close to nature at the White Sands Resort and Conference Centre quite out of town was both refreshing and a never to be forgotten experience.

See why as I take you on a walk through the resort via the images captured by #Edmages below. #Whitesandsbeachresort #travelphotography
