When Highlands and Water meet the effect is astounding!
There are times when a breathtaking view just lets you come out with a soft moan - Aha! This is one of them taken on the Volta Lake in 2010. Nature is indeed beautiful.
This beautiful but uninhabited small island which I have decided to call Volta Island, can be found right in the middle of Ghana's Volta Lake. My camera lens could not resist this spectacular view.

Ghana's only cruise boat on the Volta Lake, the Dodi Princess, was in its early life a cargo vessel known as the Grains Maid, probably because it ferried maize and other grains from communities along the periphery of the vast expanse of the lake, before it was converted into a cruise boat.
