Xi Jinping re-elected CPC General Secretary

At the just ended 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Beijing, President Xi Jinping was retained as the General Secretary of the Party.

He is also Leader of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, the highest decision-making body of the Party.

Below are some pictures from a press conference held on Wednesday, October 25 to announce and introduce the new leaders of the CPC (Members of the Standing Committee Politburo).

The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) was held from October 18, 2017 to October 24, 2017. 

The Congress was on the theme: “Remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind, hold high the banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, secure a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, strive for the great success of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, and work tirelessly to realise the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.”

Below are some scenes captured during the final day during which several resolutions including some amendments to the CPC's Constitution were adopted.

Also elected was a new Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) after the congress reviewed and approved the report on the work of the 18th CCDI.

The Communist Party of China (CPC) is currently holding its 19th National Congress in Beijing. The congress is held one in every five years. This year's congress attracted over 2,280 delegates representing the about 89.5 million members of the party in all the 32 provinces and regions of the country.

Xi, leaders, others place flowers on Monument to the People’s Heroes

Today September 30, 2017, President Xi Jinping, leaders of the People's Republic of China, the military, school children and some members of the Communist Party of China laid some flowers at the Monument to the People's Heroes at the Tian'anmen Square.

The Monument to the People's Heroes (Rénmín Yīngxióng Jìniànbēi) is a ten-story stone pillar that was erected as a national monument of the People's Republic of China to the martyrs of revolutionary struggle during the 19th and 20th centuries. 

It is located in the southern part of Tian'anmen Square in Beijing, to the north of the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong. The monument was built in accordance with a resolution of the First Plenary Session of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference adopted on November 30, 1949 and construction lasted from August 1952 to May 1958.

Belt and Road Forum (BRF)

Attending the forum which was on the theme, “Strengthening international cooperation and co-building the 'Belt and Road' for win-win development” were over 1,500 delegates from over 130 countries including the over 100 countries that have signed onto the initiative as well as about 4,000 journalists who provided coverage.

Kung Fu fighting

The Legend of Kung Fu is the only Chinese show that holds daily residential performances both in China and abroad.

Since July of 2010, the show has simultaneously been performed daily at the Red Theatre in Beijing and the White House Theatre in Branson, MO, a newly purchased theatre of China Heaven Creation International Performing Arts Co., Ltd (CHC), a company based in Beijing which created the show, thus becoming it the most famous Chinese brand production in the international commercial show market.
