Nothing prepared us for the heart-pounding, adrenalin-filled and exhilarating dives and ascents on the dunes although we knew we were going on a desert safari in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve.
With no warning the cross-country vehicle we were travelling on just did a dive, a steep climb, then there were twists and turns that were both exciting and frightening at the same time.....
Those deft maneuvers by our experienced driver, Khurshid, drew spontaneous involuntary shrieks and sometimes moans of fright with a tinge of pleasure from some of the occupants of the vehicle.
The Sundowner Dune Desert Safari had been arranged as
part of a media familiarisation tour of Emirates’ facilities and in the vehicle
were some selected Ghanaian journalists on the trip.
